Mental health professionals

We occassionally need mental health professionals from a range of disciplines to share their skills in countries such as Tajikistan. You’ll strengthen services and help more people with mental health problems to fulfil their potential.

Roles generally range from one to two years, but we have occasional short term roles for six months.

The types of professionals we look for are psychiatrists with a minimum of two years experience, occupational therapists with at least three years experience and community psychiatric nurses with two years experience or more . You’ll be helping build community-based services, so you’ll need experience of managing teams or services within a community setting.

Pratap Sinha (Namibia - Secure livelihoods)

Namibia stands to gain a great deal from international tourism, but there’s a fine line between empowerment and exploitation. Lacking the commercial skills and business infrastructure to profit from tourism, some Namibian communities risk missing out on opportunities for economic growth. VSO volunteer Pratap Sinha is working with outside investors and local people to guarantee sustainable development.
